April is the season for making charcoal at Gekko-so. We take the willow branches harvested at the end of the year, strip and dry them, and then fire them in the kiln for half a day.
Gekko-so charcoal is made from willow trees carefully selected and nurtured from the soil, each branch finished by hand by skilled artisans.
