The long-awaited new product is finally here. It is a brass holder designed exclusively for Gekkoso's long-selling 8B pencils!
The Gekkoso 8B pencil allows you to freely express thickness, thinness, and shading with just a change in technique. For many years, it has continued to be loved by many people, from professional creative work to children's drawings.
Many customers have happily shown us their 8B pencils, worn down so short they had to hold them with their fingers, saying, "I've used it this much!"
Each time, we received the same feedback: "I wish there were a holder that would let me use it comfortably until the very end."
Gekkoso 8B pencils are made about 1.5 times thicker than standard pencils so that they do not tire your hand even when held for long periods. Because of this, they do not fit into commercially available pencil holders, and we have received requests for a dedicated holder for many years.
We wanted to respond to those wishes. After numerous prototypes, we have finally completed a holder we are truly satisfied with.
As mentioned above, the material is brass. The more you use it, the deeper its character becomes, and its appearance gradually changes. The design is extremely simple and timeless. This is because the star is not the tool, but the person who draws.
To commemorate the new release, our name engraving service, normally 6,000 yen, will be available for 2,000 yen for the first 200 customers. For the font, we have prepared the Gekkoso original font, which is also used on the cover of Gekkoso sketchbooks and was created together by Genichiro Inokuma and the founder of Gekkoso.
